AIA Shanghai is continually working to develop strategic relationships with industry conferences, suppliers and like-minded industry and affiliated groups in order to provide members with a robust program of continuing education events. To date, over 100 LU events have been offered including seminars, hand-on workshops, building and factory tours, as well as lectures. We welcome your ideas for continuing education events to supplement what is currently being offered. Please read below the requirements for AIA continuing education.

AIA members are required to satisfy a minimum of 18 LUs per year. Of this total, 12 must be a structured activity and meet the Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW) criteria. Assoc. AIA and Emeritus members are not required to complete the AIA continuing education requirement. Members are able to roll-over a maximum of 18 LU Credits and 12 HSW credits from the current year to the following year after completing the yearly requirement for a specific credit designation. Credits cannot be carried over more than a year. Please keep in mind that while your progress bar may show that you have met the AIA credit requirement for a year, your transcript may show no courses for the same year due to roll-over credits.

NOTE  The requirements to maintain good standing with AIA may not be sufficient to renew your professional registration if you are licensed to practice architecture in a US State. For futher information, you may consult this page - however, it remains each individual's responsibility to consult with their State licensing board for their respective registration requirements. AIA does not manage this.
